The George Green's Experience

At George Green’s, we enhance students’ social and cultural skills, by supporting their personal development throughout their school time.

We do this by offering a broad range of extra-curricular activities like drama, music, debating, sports, sea-cadets and other clubs, in partnership with external organisations and by involving GGS students in our exciting projects, aiming to raise our students’ aspirations, supporting them in whatever future they decide to pursue!

George Green’s School is an inclusive and anti-racist organisation. We believe that every young person in our school community should be able to achieve our vision for them regardless of their background. We teach our children to see diversity as a strength and that the differences between people are enriching. We are also committed to challenging racism in all its forms, be it overt and explicit racism or covert and structural racism. It is our mission that every child that leaves us to enter adulthood leaves seeing themselves as powerful and capable of bringing about change.

Jon Ryder, Principal

We believe in the importance of empowering our students through active participation in the student council.

This initiative not only fosters leadership skills but also encourages students to express their opinions and ideas. By taking part in the student council, students learn the value of teamwork and collaboration, which are essential skills for their future success. Every term, the school council meets to discuss feedback raised form peers, which is then presented to the SLT team at George Green’s, to decide how to drive changes forward.

The student voice is a vital aspect of our school community. We strive to create an environment where students feel confident to share their thoughts and contribute to decision-making processes.

Through regular meetings and open forums, the student council ensures that every student's opinion is heard and valued, reinforcing the idea that each student plays a key role in shaping our school culture.

We invite parents of the local community to support our student leadership initiatives. By encouraging your children to engage with the student council, you help foster a sense of responsibility and ownership in their education. Together, we can nurture a generation of confident leaders who are well-prepared to face the challenges of tomorrow.

We believe in the transformative power of Expressive Arts.

Our curriculum is designed to cultivate creativity and self-expression among students, providing them with opportunities to explore various artistic disciplines. From visual arts to drama and music, we aim to foster a love for the arts that extends beyond the classroom, encouraging students to develop their unique talents and perspectives. Through workshops, exhibitions and performances, we showcase the incredible work of our students and promote collaboration between families and the school. By supporting the arts, you are helping to enrich our students' educational experience and strengthen community ties, making George Green's a vibrant hub for creativity.

We offer a wide range of activities, including football, basketball, hanball, badminton, rugby, gymanstics, dance and even more, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to participate and excel.

We also organise various inter-school competitions and events throughout the year, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and community. Parents are encouraged to get involved, whether by supporting their children at events or encouraging their involvement in their favourite sport. Together, we can create a vibrant sports culture at George Green's that promotes both physical fitness and personal growth.
