Analytical

Rayhan - Year 12
Being analytical means never settling for the first answer. It’s about stepping out of your comfort zone and exploring possibilities.

GeorgeGreen 048For me, being analytical means not just solving  problems, but evaluating different approaches to determine the most effective one.

In Maths, there’s often more than one way to reach an answer, whether it’s algebraic manipulation, a graphical method, or a numerical approach. The key is to assess each option, weighing up on the accuracy and logic before deciding on the best path.

“When will I ever use this?” An analytical mindset applies beyond maths, it reflects in life itself. People take different paths to achieve their goals. Some may choose to go to university and other may choose to pursue apprenticeships. Just like in problem solving, no single route is more “correct” than the other. What matters is understanding the options, recognising the strengths and challenges, making an overall informed decision.

Being analytical means never settling for the first answer. It’s  about stepping out of your comfort zone and exploring possibilities, challenging assumptions, and making decisions with confidence.

Analytical thinking drives progress. Engineers, Data Analysts, Business Leaders must assess multiple solutions, predicting outcomes, before taking action. Whether it’s designing more efficient products, optimising supply, or improving safety, the ability to think critically and compare different approaches is crucial.

The PACCAR values upheld by George Green’s School prepare students for the future by equipping them with the skills, mindset, and knowledge to make a meaningful contribution to society throughout the rest of their lives.
