Pastoral
We are dedicated to providing exceptional pastoral support for our students throughout their secondary education journey. Understanding the unique challenges faced during these formative years, our approach focusses on nurturing a supportive and inclusive environment.
We wish to ensure that every student receives the guidance they need to thrive both academically and personally and for that we hold assemblies, wellbeing checks, tutor briefings and we rely on our parental engagement programme to understand better the needs of your child.

Assemblies
Weekly assemblies are held in line with our school’s vision ‘Aspiration, Equality, Excellence’. These sessions provide a platform for delivering important messages, recognising achievements, and fostering a sense of community among students. A schedule of our themed assemblies can be found below.
Wellbeing Checks
Regular well-being checks are conducted to ensure students feel supported and valued. These checks can include one-on-one conversations, or small group sessions to identify and address any concerns related to mental health or personal challenges.
Parent Engagement Meetings
These meetings are held to share the school’s values and expectations, and to give parents/carers the opportunity to ask questions to the Year Leader or the SLT link. These sessions aim to build a strong partnership between school and home, ensuring that students receive consistent support.
Behaviour Analysis and Communication with Parents
Pastoral staff regularly review behaviour data to identify trends and address concerns proactively. This includes timely communication with parents about both achievements and areas for improvement, ensuring a collaborative approach to student behaviour management.
Tutor Briefings
Morning tutor briefings provide an opportunity for tutors to receive updates about students in their form group, including attendance, behaviour, and well-being concerns. This ensures tutors are well-informed and prepared to support their students effectively.
Celebration Teas for Top 10 Achievers in Each Year Group
These special events celebrate the top 10 achievers in each year group, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. Students are invited to a tea with senior staff, creating a positive and motivating experience.
Rewarding Students in Assemblies Every Week
Weekly assemblies also include the recognition of students’ achievements across various categories such as attendance, behaviour, and academic progress. This consistent reward system reinforces positive behaviours and encourages a culture of excellence.
