Principled

Treina - Year 12
To me being principled means to be someone who has demonstrative values about what is right or wrong.

Ggs 292Someone who doesn’t follow the crowd but stands out by being true to themselves, showing conscious understanding, integrity and respect.

I believe everyone is able to demonstrate this core value, and during my time at George Green’s, I have been afforded many opportunities to do so from sharing and listening to thoughts and ideas in lessons across the curriculum, in extracurricular activities such as reading weekly with primary school pupils, writing alongside fellow students and a published poet as part of the First Story programme, and in employability-related events outside of school.

Often connecting all these experiences is learning from and through discussion with others whether whole class, small group or one-to-one; to discover thoughts and opinions different to your own and to recognise the value and strength in respecting these perspectives whilst standing with one’s own thoughts if firmly believed to be right or just.
